Vice President Joe Biden is leading a new, national $1 billion Moonshot initiative to propel cancer research. Speaking in April at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2016 in New Orleans, Biden emphasized the need for scientists to collaborate to move cancer research forward. “There is more brainpower in this room than exists in many countries. And we need you,” Biden told the international gathering of cancer researchers, doctors, patient advocates and cancer survivors.

While the AACR meeting was underway, the National Cancer Institute announced it had launched a website where anyone can propose research ideas for consideration by the panel guiding the Moonshot initiative. You can submit your ideas or read others at CancerResearchIdeas.cancer.gov.
