Manage the emotional turmoil that can immediately follow a cancer diagnosis with AfterShock: Facing a Serious Diagnosis. The free app, a condensed version of the late Jessie Gruman’s book AfterShock, provides advice and resources on topics ranging from learning about your diagnosis and getting a second opinion to telling others about your illness.
 
If you are being screened for prostate cancer, you can get information about how likely a prostate biopsy would be negative for cancer or could identify a low-grade or high-grade cancer by using the Prostate Cancer Risk Calculator, developed by the University of Texas Health Science Center.
 
Find nutritious recipes to help you eat meals that will fuel you during and after your cancer treatment on Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s app Ask the Nutritionist: Recipes for Fighting Cancer. The app includes nutrition tips and a search-by-symptom feature. It also allows you to send questions to—and get personalized answers from—Dana-Farber’s nutrition department.
